Looks great but I don't open my transformers :) I only like the original ones or the ones from the movies; so this fits right in there. Mine for some reason looks different from this packaging and it doesn't come with a comic/dvd

picked it up at TRU on sale, opened it when my boy turned 5 so we can play together, reminds me of my first old Optimus prime!!

A near-perfect re-issue of the Prime who started it all, this is a great collector's piece - especially if you don't have an original G1 in your collection. Of course, acquiring a G1 prime - even a metal plates or blue roller version - wouldn't cost you THAT much more money than this shiny new re-issue, but then you wouldn't have this cool packaging. And it's kind of nice to have a G1 prime that isn't an antique you'd be afraid to break.

This brought back a lot of memories. The Autobot insignia with Peter Cullen's voice is a nice touch. The box was a little large but fitting for an anniversary edition. Definitely a keeper

Next best thing to having an original G1 Prime. I only have 1 right now, tempted to get a second just to be able to watch the DVD it includes!

Just a reissue of the original Optimus Prime toy, what more could you want? It's a G1 toy, so he has a simple transformation with fist kibble. But the trailer is nice and you get a dvd of...something, I don't even remember.

I enjoy staring my day with a good 15 minute drooling session of staring at my 25th Optimus Prime. I know the depth of his transformation, as well as his action articulation, are far sub "prime". However, he represents 25 years of my favorite hero, as well as 25 years of staying 4.5 years old in my heart.

I think the 25th Anniversary Optimus Prime is decent as a set, but the figure is the worst of the reissue versions of Prime. Instead of a nice dark red on Prime they used a shade that's almost pink, and his trailer instead of its traditional steely grey is almost bone white. He also suffers from the short smoke stacks that all the Hasbro reissues have. The sound box unit is a nice addition and sounds good. You also get a reprint of the first comic and a dvd More Than Meets the Eye.

If you are looking for a nice G1 prime for your collection get a Takara or the older ToysRUS reissue. If you want a nice giftset for a kid you are introducing to Transformers, then this is a good choice.

Got these on clearance at walmart for a blockbuster of a price. How could you pass up a 25th anniversary G1 Prime!? There is no way I could. This was an excellent addition to my collection. I know they are re-issues but it just didn't matter to me.

i gotta say if you want a G1 prime then go for it. this is a pure G1 prime but that said very little articulation. so really get him if you need a G1 prime.

G1 Optimus Prime has been reissued so many times between Hasbro and TakaraTomy that unless you are a completionist you can skip this release. First off the red plastic almost looks pink in hand and the trailer is a flat light gray. The whole toy just looks "off". I bought one on clearance just to have it, but it's staying sealed. There are much better reissues of this figure to own than this one.
