Curator's Notes:

One of two Jumpstarters released in 1985, Topspin and Twin Twist were Hasbro's first attempts at self transforming bots. Pull them back, let 'em go and maybe 30% of the time they would transform and land on their feet. Pretty fun stuff when it worked!

Topspin and Twintwist were what was known as jump starters, the idea was that they would flip from vehicle to robot mode and they were even supposed to land on the robots feet.

The sculpts are very good, but the minimal articulation and super cheesy 1 step transformation kept them from being any fun for more than a few minutes.

Topspin, like his other counterpart Twintwist was the simplest transformation ever made. Pull him back and watch him go, and hardly ever land on his feet.

G1 Transformers are the ones that started it all. Beginning in 1984 and going through 1990. Many of us enjoy these over others.

Topspin has an odd, blocky jet mode. His robot-mode is decent but fairly lacking in many areas, such as coloration.
