Curator's Notes:

Ironhide was one of two Autobots based on the Nissan Onebox mini-van (with Ratchet). He was a regular on the cartoon, but fans still despair that Hasbro did not provide him with a head that matched the cartoon version.

My very first Transformer was a black Diaclone "Ironhide." I got it in 1982, before Transformers even existed in the U.S. So I'm partial to this toy, this mold and its Diaclone carry-over stickers. (I even had the driver.) But let's get real - Ironhide (and Ratchet like him) don't have actual heads, and their faces are square stickers. Weakest bot mode of all time perhaps, even though the battle station is pretty cool. Okay, who am I kidding? I don't care if he has a head or not, Ironhide is great. But yeah, needs a head.

Ironhide, why do you have a sticker for a face? Love the vehicle mode, but the robot mode has to be the worst G1 mold ever.

this is a terrible version of ironhide, he doesn't even have a head! I'd like to get the igear version but I have a feeling masterpiece will do him right next year.

why did they make no head with ironhide, just used his winshield. Otherwise is a nice piece when he is tight. When loose tends to fall. small parts are easily lost and getting harder to find
