The prized figure of the first wave of Hasbro Classics. An elegantly designed figure that's a great update for the iconic character. I'm not a big fan of the wind vane-turned gun, but I appreciate the updated alt-mode. Get this one AND the Henkei release, and slap the Fansproject Powered Commander armor on this one!
Got these when they first hit the shelves. Transformers Classics! Awesome! I love the mold, you just couldn't do better. I have every version of this mold, I think it speaks volumes capturing the imagination from the original.
now you want a cool toy. then go and find this guy. just be warned that the arm kibble is clear plastic and mine broke off but i fixed it. so watch out
A nice, modern interpretation of Prime. The yellow bits are a bit jarring but the sculpt is perfect in both bot and vehicle mode. It's a shame that this line never had a cartoon to push these figures as they are some of the nicest interpretations of G1 characters in recent history.
The classic stand in Optimus mold, forearm kibble and all. Personally I plan on upgrading to Toyworld's Orion figure someday.
One of the first two Transformers toys that I bought as an adult collector (the other being Classics Hot Rod), this is where it started with me.
A bit outdated, but still a really great mold. The arm kibble is a bit distracting, but the details are very nice.
Amazing new take on G1 optimus prime. The colors scream prime, and both modes look quite impressive. The figure is uber articulate and highly pose-able, not to mention being armed to the teeth.
A little difficult to transform at first, but after it becomes much easier. Awesome coloring and I love his weapon that comes with him.
Awesome updated classics homage to Generation 1 Optimus Prime. I really love this figure. The only thing that I dislike about it is the paint job and the arm kibble. I recommend the Japanese Henkei version of this mold with the more premium and accurate paint job over the Universe Classics version. If you can't afford the Henkei version then this classics version is still an amazing figure. Another route you can go is to paint the hasbro version yourself and add your own Reprolabels or have a friend or someone with experience paint it for you. I had mine custom painted to look more G1 accurate like the Henkei version and I love it!! You can also get various 3rd party and custom blaster rifles that represent Primes G1 rifle and there is also Smoke Stacks available as well. Then you also have the option of various 3rd party trailers which are highly detailed as well as armor. I highly recommend any version of this figure you can afford. It is a great figure!! This version in particular gets a 4 star rating because of the Paint apps alone. Like I said it is still an amazing figure and a must have
I don't know if anyone noticed that on pic #2, Optimus Prime's knee pads aren't flipped up. The Smokestack to Laser Cannon was a pretty sweet feature on this figure. Simply excellent.
