Transformers Animated was brought to Japan from North America, instead of the other way around. This resulted in some unusual, albeit cool, aspects. This is the first series where almost all of the characters' names were kept the same (Eg: Optimus Prime was not called Convoy). Though, Bulkhead was renamed Ironhide in an attempt to tie into the movie-verse. Also there are several characters who were given toy counterparts only available in Japan.
